Important: Family Vector is a recordkeeping tool—not a diagnostic, symptom-checking, treatment, or emergency service. Do not delay professional or emergency care because of information displayed, missing, or recorded in the app.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading or using Family Vector, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Family Vector is intended for adults who are legally able to accept these terms.
2. What Family Vector does
Family Vector lets an adult caregiver create household-member profiles, record symptoms and illness episodes, view a household timeline, and generate a date-bounded PDF report. It organizes information entered by the user; it does not independently measure, verify, interpret, diagnose, or monitor anyone’s health.
3. No medical or emergency advice
Family Vector does not diagnose disease, identify a cause of symptoms, determine who infected whom, recommend treatment, assess urgency, or decide whether someone is healthy or safe. Its severity labels and visual summaries describe only the user’s own entries and are not clinical assessments.
Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional for medical questions. For a medical emergency or concern requiring urgent attention, contact local emergency services or an appropriate healthcare provider. Family Vector is not designed for continuous monitoring, emergency alerts, medication decisions, or time-critical care.
4. Your records and responsibilities
You are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of information you enter, for reviewing and correcting records, and for deciding whether and how to use them. A missing, delayed, duplicated, corrupted, or inaccurate entry can make a timeline or report incomplete.
You must have the authority to record and share information about each household member. Use only the amount of identifying information reasonably needed for your own purpose; providing a date of birth is optional. You retain ownership of the information you enter and the reports you generate.
5. Local storage and loss
Family Vector stores its working records in the app’s private container on the device and does not provide a developer account, server backup, or multi-device synchronization. Apple device backups may include app data depending on the user’s settings. Ecopoiesis cannot retrieve or restore local records.
Electronic records can be lost through device failure, app removal, storage corruption, operating-system behavior, user deletion, or other events. Family Vector attempts to save changes safely and may preserve an unreadable file for possible recovery, but recovery is not guaranteed. Keep another appropriately protected record of any information you cannot afford to lose.
6. Reports and sharing
A generated report may contain sensitive health and identifying information. Review it before sharing. When you use Apple’s share sheet, you—not Ecopoiesis—choose the recipient, service, printer, or storage location. Confirm the destination and understand its security and privacy practices before sending.
A Family Vector report is a summary of user-entered observations. A healthcare professional remains responsible for independently evaluating the information and making clinical decisions. Sending a report does not establish a clinician-patient relationship with Ecopoiesis or guarantee that a recipient will review or act on it.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use Family Vector to violate law or another person’s rights; record or disclose information without appropriate authority; impersonate another person; harass, exploit, or endanger someone; misrepresent a report as a diagnosis or verified medical record; probe, disrupt, reverse engineer except where law permits, or compromise the app; or reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit the app without written permission.
8. Intellectual property
Family Vector—including its software, branding, interfaces, original text, and design—is owned by Ecopoiesis or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app as intended; they do not transfer ownership.
9. Availability and changes
We do not guarantee that Family Vector will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device or operating-system version, or available forever. We may fix, update, add, remove, or discontinue features. If a future version changes how household information is stored or transmitted, we will update the applicable disclosures before releasing that feature.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Family Vector is provided “as is” and “as available.” Ecopoiesis disclaims implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement. These disclaimers do not limit warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ecopoiesis and its members, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost, exposed, incomplete, or inaccurate records; reliance on a report; delayed care; or loss of data, access, opportunity, or goodwill arising from Family Vector.
Ecopoiesis’s aggregate liability for a claim relating to Family Vector will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app during the 12 months before the claim or US $50. These limits do not apply where prohibited or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. App Store license
Family Vector is licensed, not sold. Unless Ecopoiesis supplies a separate custom license through the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app license. These Terms supplement that license. If a conflict concerns the app license, the applicable App Store license controls.
13. Changes, severability, and waiver
We may update these terms and will post the current version at this URL with its effective date. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be adjusted only as much as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
